On 18th August, 1918, the 2nd Middlesex battalion of 23 Brigade, 8th Division, were in the front line at Vimy Ridge, a few miles to the north of Arras. The Battalion Diary recorded that as a result of enemy aircraft bombing these positions, two men were killed and another four wounded. Frank Walker was one of the two men killed. |
